As we have some of the most amazing fruit trees on the land in Costa Rica, we could harvest another tropical piece of gold today.
We have the pleasure of growing not only Jackfruit and Durian, but around 500 fruit trees here on the property.
In addition to that do we also have 3 massive green houses that deliver lots of greens and veggies all year round as we have a perma culture farm that aims to be sustainable.
We are not 100% sustainable, as the farm is too close at the ocean (as in too hot to grow some foods), but on the other hand do we overproduce specific foods, so that we could trade it for other goods with neighbors of the community up the road.
If you are set up like this, true sustainability and independence is reached.
That makes is totally independent from the monetary system and we could even thrive now in case another crash would hit the world economy.
It wouldn’t bother us at all!
The size of the Jackfruit is a symbol for the abundance you can experience in Costa Rica alll year round.
It was just massive! Please check out this Jackfruit in the video below. It is the size of a little car (well… almost!! LOL) About 10 people feasted on it and the whole farm came together to celebrate this delicious fruit together. Of course the kids were the first ones to taste it.
